Eric Lichter
Director of Football Performance



Eric Lichter is in his sixth year as Ohio State’s director of football performance. He joined Jim Tressel’s staff in June, 2006. Lichter oversees all aspects of the Buckeyes’ strength and conditioning program and emphasizes speed, explosiveness and position-specific training. Ground-based training and Olympic style weightlifting are major components of the program as he strives to improve the Buckeyes’ strength, reaction time, flexibility, balance, agility and linear and multi-directional speed.

Lichter attended Weber State, where he played three years of football before graduating in 1997 with a degree in lifestyle management and exercise sciences.

A certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and a certified personal trainer, Lichter worked 10 years in the private sector as a personal trainer and consultant. Specializing in combine and draft preparation for high-profile athletes, Lichter has trained more than 50 current NFL and NBA players, including 13 first-round and five Top 10 selections.

Lichter and his wife, Annemarie, have three children, Tyler, Ava and Taurian. Eric’s mother, Linda Lichter Witter, is Ohio State’s synchronized swimming coach.
